Hyam and Murray Named in Young Squad for Shrewsbury Trip Mon 10th Aug 2009 18:06
Town boss Roy Keane has named a very young provisional squad for Tuesday evening’s Carling Cup first round tie at Shrewsbury (KO 7.45pm). Academy duo Luke Hyam (pictured) and Ronan Murray are perhaps the most surprising names included, alongside the likes of Reggie Lambe, Jack Ainsley, Troy Brown, Ian McLoughlin and Shane O’Connor.

Goals from Pablo Couñago and Kevin Lisbie gave the Blues a 2-1 home victory over Colchester United in the Carling Cup second round. Town were on top throughout and should have been well clear before Steven Gillespie pulled back a late goal for the U's.

A second half Tommy Miller penalty saw the Blues to a 1-1 draw with Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium on Wednesday evening. Miller netted from the spot after Danny Haynes had been fouled, Simeon Jackson having put the home side in front before the break.

In a move bound to annoy traditionalists Ipswich Town are doing away with Churchman's. In a press conference held to give greater detail of the development to the stand the club announced that until a suitable sponsor is found for it the stand will be referred to as the South Stand, a name more synonymous with away trips to Carrow Road than ITFC.
